Rainer Düring aka Curv started his producer career in the late 90s in Berlin as one half of Thrust &!Pez. The Duo had several releases on labels like Vienna Scientists, Stereo Deluxe and Voidcom (Ministry of Sound) before going seperate ways in 2001. Curv then founded his own label Orange Coffee whose first promo CD grabbed the attention of Karsten John who immediately signed his beautiful tune Volo Nel Cielo for a 12“ release on Vinyl Vibes Records. This turned out to be the beginning of a long lasting and successful cooperation. Curvs next production Cuban Clowns spent only a couple of hours on his Myspace site before it got licensed straight away for the Brasilectro 8 compilation even before it`s official release on Vinyl Vibes. It was later included on his Exclusives EP which also featured a stunning Nu-Bossa Cover of Adamski`s 80s hit Killer. This got our most licensed tune so far that – amongst others – was also included on Ministry Of Sounds compilation bestseller Uncovered alongside artists like The Prodigy, Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx, Chaka Khan, The Gossip or Fatboy Slim.
Curv produced a remix for the Mombasa LP African Rhythms & Blues out on Sonorama in 2007 and another one for St Gilles EP Listen To These Words thereby proving his growing love for more electronic sounds.
In 2008 Curv finished his first solo album that got delayed due to sample clearing reasons and is now scheduled for release in autumn 2010. Meanwhile he finished another album of more club orientated electronic tunes which is going to be released very soon!
Curv is also one half of the Freestyle DJ Duo Groove Inferno which is constantly touring throgh Germany with an eclectic mix of NuJazz, Broken Beats, Fidget, House, Minimal, HipHop, Baile Funk, Balkan Beats & Rare Groove.
Either way, as a producer or a DJ: Curv rocks!
